wonderful but the clean up sucks, (What's this?) this thing is hard to clean... we cooked korean bbq with marinated chicken on here and it charred the pan, i thought it was suppose to be nonstick. the cleaning instructions says to clean with a metal brush w/o soap. hmmm.. sounds unsanitary. the product is heavy and huge. i was able to feed 8 people so im impressed.
Great Product, (What's this?) I am rating this before I recieve the pan. This is what I have been looking for. I know a few people were disappointed with their pan but this is a pan to bake in or mainly cooking over an open campfire. I use cast iron all the time and its great cooking fun. I look forward to buying more cast iron products.
Stop reading and buy it!, (What's this?) It's AMAZING!!!! Initially I was concerned that it was oversized and overpriced....not at all! Its very large...it covers 2 electric burners (vertically) and there are hot/cold zones in that mode but you can cook bacon and eggs simultaneously or tons of bacon, etc if you rotate. It really shines in the oven (its about as wide as a jelly roll pan or large cookie sheet including handles)...deep dish pizza, and roast any-meat(chicken is the best)! The huge surface area allows you to brown or char up veggies w/o overcooking all of them and it can handle mass quantities. It will probably last a lifetime and then some...oh and fits on my weber kettle grill (old school style!).
cast iron big boy, (What's this?) this pan is awesome. it is huge. it covers 2 burners on the stove and works great on the grill.we have made pan seared steaks, fried chicken and onion rings with out any sticking. this is a great investment piece for any kitchen. highly recommend for anyone looking for a very large skillet. it would easily hold 2 whole chickens.
17-inch Cast Iron Skillet loves the grill..., (What's this?) This skillet is a steal at this price, especially with free shipping; and especially when compared to any other quality pan of this size. Just imagine what it would cost if it were stainless steel, or aluminum layered, or copper layered.
Love this skillet!, This was one of my best purchases for 2011. It's an extremely versatile skillet and HUGE! Works great as a paella pan too! I've cooked entire meals in just this pan and all at the same time. The only disadvantage is that it's HUGE (takes up one entire rack in the oven for storage).
If you like to cook on cast iron or would like to cook on cast iron, this is a great choice.

I LOVE THIS PAN!, (What's this?) I bought this because I love cast iron to begin with, and had been making deep dish pizza in our 12" skillet, but the pizza was not big enough. This makes great, huge deep dish pizza, and today I am using it to make a double batch of garlic kale rolls. Just measure before you buy, to make sure it fits in your oven. It probably would not have fit in our old oven, but does in this one. We store it in the under-oven drawer and it fits perfectly.
Excellent Skillet with Minor Flaws, (What's this?) Excellent skillet that cames seasoned out of the box with good directions on initial cleaning, use, and maintenance. I've had it three weeks and have already used the skillet half-a-dozen times, on the stovetop and in the oven, making rosemary potatoes, chicken, and french toast. I am planning on using it for paella this week. So far, all the results have been excellent.
