versatile!, (What's this?) love this pot and lid! the lid is great for cooking small dishes for two or three, scrambles eggs nicely and good for a grilled cheese or small quesadillas or omelets. and, not having a traditional long handle makes it easier to store. the pot is a great size - large enough for stews and boiling potatoes and pasta, but not gigantic and still easy to store (and lift to the sink). invert the lid onto the pot and it's a small double boiler. takes a while to heat the pot for searing on an induction cooktop.
Best Ever., (What's this?) Anything Cast Iron is a good investment. I cooked a whole chicken without any fluid, like the french do, and it was more than marvelous, and juicy.
Awesome Product Line, (What's this?) We recently had to return a gift of the Martha Stewart pots because apparently the ceramic explodes and chips. Yikes!! So we looked for a replacement and we just love this entire product line.
Great deep fryer, (What's this?) I purchased this oven solely to use as a deep fryer instead of using the Le Creuset French ovens I already own.
Not the greatest design, (What's this?) I do like the pot.
The instructions don't tell you, but wash it out. They don't clean it after seasoning and there's a black soot in it.
I'm happy--It's made in the USA!!, (What's this?) After going through a set of Le Cruiset and a cheaper version of cast iron pots coated with enamel, and even more expensive Calphalon non-stick pots, I became weary of wondering where all the stuff goes that flakes off of the interior of these pots. It is kind of scary to think that we are so careful of the ingredients we put into our food--fresh organic produce and vegetarian fed, humanely treated meat, eggs from cage-free chickens--and then we go and eat flaked off porcelain or non-stick pan coating flakes without batting an eye! With this in mind, I made a conscious decision to return to a simpler solution for my cooking needs--good, old fashioned, inexpensive cast iron like my mother and grandmother used. But I should have remembered--not all cast iron is created equal. I set out on my quest to replace my porcelain coated favorite pot which had cracked in several places in spite of the loving care I gave it on a regular basis.I went to a well known department store chain thinking it would be a one-stop shop.
Love My New Double Dutch Oven w/Skillet Cover!, (What's this?) This thing is awesome and beautiful. Mine came with some slight imperfections on the handles from casting, but I'm OK with that. It's a perfect size for me and looks great.
My first time use was to deep fry some chicken to help season it further. It performed beautifully. I love it. <3

Love my cast iron, (What's this?) I just love this new dutch oven. The lid serves as another small skillet. I think it was seasoned well and I am using it all the time. I am just learning how to cook in cast iron and I do love the way things cook in it. I have made some of the best pork chops I have ever made, with crunchy edges and browned just right. This dutch oven is making me look like a much better cook now a days!! I have purchased the 12 inch by 3.5 tall skillet too, and the regular 12 inch skillet. Told my husband this is the last set of pans we will ever buy.
