All-Clad Stainless 11-Inch Nonstick French Skillet

All-Clad Stainless 11-Inch Nonstick French Skillet
All-Clad as usual, All-Clad is the prosumer choice for pots and pans and this product is no exception. It looks meticulously milled and packaged with care. The skillet has a good weight to it and heats up evenly. So long care is taken to not scratch the non-stick surface, during both cooking or cleaning, this skillet is a sound investment in enabling your future cullinary creations.
Non-Stick Coating Fails, I like All-Clad pots very much due to their excellent heat dispersion, but their non-stick pans fail very quickly, and, now that All-Clad has been bought out by a French company (Groupe SEB), they will no longer replace them under warranty. They say the coatings are not designed for high heat, which is anything above medium. When I asked how one is supposed to sear at that temperature, they suggested searing in a separate conventional pan! Obviously, their non-stick pans are not useful for cooking, unless you like replacing them every 6 months to one year. Cuisinart are half the price, used by many leading chefs, and their coating seems more robust (I don't like the profile as much, though).
Another great all-clad product, (What's this?) I have two 10" All-Clad pans that are fine, but sometimes I wished I had a slightly larger one. A 12" one is too wide for my small stove. One wouldn't think an inch difference in diameter would mean much, but the 11" French skillet cooking/heating surface is 2" wider than the 10" fry pans. Not much heavier and does the job. Highly recommend.
A bit of a disappointment, (What's this?) The frying pan is a bit smaller than I anticipated. It scorches easily but if I soak it in soapy water it is pretty easy to clean. I only use it for special occassions since it was so expensive. Next time I'll pay attention to the dimensions.
Awesome sauce, (What's this?) Cooking with this kitched utensile is like heaven incarnate. It's easy to cook with. Easy to clean.
Possibly the most versitile pan in our kitchen..., I'm impressed how useful this 13" French Skillet is. We've had a good collection of All-Clad cookware in our kitchen for the past 13 years, and have added very little to it. We recently picked this up on sale @ Macies. This pan felt redundant, because we already have the 14" non-stick frying pan, their large stock pot, and other slightly smaller fryers & saute pans. But really it was our 13-Inch Braiser Pan that made this seem unnecessary.

But I quickly changed my tune.

This pan is large in capacity. It not only cooks down a bag of spinach or a bunch of chard without too much effort to keep everything contained, but the squared edge for the most part prevent any liquids or sauces from spilling over the sides when working at or near capacity. And for our cooking needs, where we put together big meals often, this has been marvelous.

Everything about this pan is what I expected from All-Clad: good workmanship, durable & cleanable finish, heavy weight, and even heat distribution.
Decent Enough, (What's this?) We do not use nonstick cookware very often in our house. For the most part, we only use this particular skillet for eggs. The skillet appears to be well-made with a nonstick coating that will last, but the handle is very uncomfortable. It is long, it is at an awkward angle, and it digs into your palm when you are holding it. Also with our skillet it seems like half of it gets hotter than the other side. It is subtle, but still noticeable.

Overall I would probably not buy this skillet again if given the choice. There are too many other options out there than to have to deal with the annoyances of this one.
Like so much it is a second, (What's this?) This is a very versatile non stick skillet.
Great, (What's this?) Love this all clad.
All-clad French skillet, (What's this?) This pan is the perfect size for those cooking for one or two. It is large enough to hold two portions easily and small enough to fit in the often used category even for one.

Any chef can put a classic French skillet to good use on a daily basis. Available in three sizes, 7-1/2, 9, and 11 inches, the Stainless nonstick skillet is designed with high sides that facilitate flipping pancakes, tossing stir-fried vegetables, or stirring stews. The solid, cast stainless-steel handle is riveted for strength, stays cool on the stovetop, and features a hole for hanging. Because the pan heats up quickly and holds its temperature well, only low to medium heat is recommended for cooking. The skillet is oven-safe to 500 degrees and can be used on induction burners. While the All-Clad Stainless collection is durable enough for dishwasher cleaning, washing by hand is recommended. All-Clad Stainless cookware carries a lifetime warranty.
